A regular meeting was held on July 7, 2022 at the Whitefish Rifle Range with 4 officers and 9 members present.

 

Range Improvements

Still waiting for actual written bids.  If anyone would like to bid the project please contact President, Justin Beauregard.

 

Friends of NRA Grant

The grant was approved and the club will be receiving an $8,000 check to purchase a shipping container for storage.

 

Gate Key Lockbox

The Gate Key Lockbox that the club owed the Whitefish Fire Department has been delivered to them.

 

Website

The website has been updated.  Alan will continue to host and maintain the website.  Please contact Treasurer, Kindee Nelson if you find any errors or have suggestions for changes on the website.  Thank you, Alan for helping the club out, we really appreciate you!

 

Range Mowing

Looking for someone to mow the range.  Have contacted several people but have yet to get a return call.  Rough estimate of $300 to rent a mower and do the mowing ourselves.

 

Women Events 2023

Vice President, Melinda Kartsonis is looking into doing some Women Shooting Events in 2023.  The Executive Board will discuss and will update the membership with some options.

 

Reminders

.223 Pistols should be shot on Rifle Range Only.

NO personal Gongs on the pistol range.

Please follow the rules of safety outlined at orientation.

If you witness safety concerns, please contact an officer with as much information as possible, ie. Member name, or vehicle plate number.

Please pickup after yourselves, by picking up trash and removing targets.

A regular meeting was held on May 4, 2022 at the Whitefish Rifle Range with 3 officers and 16 members present.

 

Kalispell Gun Show

The Kalispell Gun Show was held March 25 – 27, 2022.  We sold $120 in Raffle Tickets, $20 for a T-Shirt, 16 Individual Memberships and 3 Family Memberships.  We made $1,575.00 during the weekend.  We drew one raffle winner, which was member Ron Breuss.  Congrats Ron!  A big “Thank You” to everyone that volunteered their time during the weekend.

 

Range Cleanup

We had our annual Range Cleanup Day on Saturday, April 30th.  We had about 15 members come out and help.  Boards were replaced at both the Pistol and Rifle Range, picked up and burned trash.  Thank you to all the volunteers that donated time on your Saturday morning!

A regular meeting was held on March 2, 2022 at the Flathead County Fairgrounds Country Kitchen with 4 officers and 68 members present.

Kalispell Gun Show

The Kalispell Gun Show is March 25 – 27, 2022.  The club will have a table to sell memberships, T-shirts, Sweatshirts and Raffle Tickets like we did last year. Volunteers are always welcome, please contact Justin if you are not signed up and are interested.

The Officers of the Club are still working on getting the range improvements done.  We have had a really hard time getting bids for work and still have to get approval from the DNRC.  We are hoping, to do all range improvements this year.

A regular meeting was held on January 5, 2022 at the Flathead County Fairgrounds 4-H Building with 4 officers and 2 members present.

Friends of NRA Sponsorship

We will be sponsoring the Friends of NRA for 2022.  The club donated a youth rifle to the FNRA for their Youth Table Raffle.

Kalispell Gun Show

The Kalispell Gun Show is March 25 – 27, 2022.  The club will have a table to sell memberships, T-shirts, Sweatshirts and Raffle Tickets like we did last year. There will be a signup sheet for volunteers at the March 2022 meeting.

Thank You

Tim Anderson sent a thank you and a $200 Donation for the club’s help in member notification of an estate sale of gun and ammunition.

Reminder

Election of Officers will be during the March 2022 Club Meeting.  Members are encouraged to participate in the club meetings.  The board is always open to what the members would like, however, if no members are participating in the meetings we can only do what we see fit.

A regular meeting was held on November 3, 2021 at the Flathead County Fairgrounds 4-H Building with 4 officers and 5 members present.

 

Hunter Sight in Days

Hunter Sight in Days were held on October 2nd, 3rd, 16th & 17th.  We had about 200 shooters sighting in over 225 rifles.  A big “Thank You” to all the member volunteers we had this year for all 4 days.  Thanks to Stan Bithell for the BBQ lunch. A winner was drawn for our Progressive Raffle on October 17th.  Thanks to all of you who are buying tickets and supporting our fundraiser.  The club is still running the Progressive Raffle and selling T-Shirts and Sweat Shirts.  If anyone is interested contact Justin Beauregard or Kindee Nelson.

 

Range Improvements

The Club has submitted a grant application to Friends of NRA for funds to purchase a container for storage at the range.

Business discussed:

Range Closure

Justin gave an update on why the range was closed voluntarily because of fire restrictions and was reopened when restrictions were lifted.  DNRC has stated that they would like to have their own lock on the gate.  Justin will look into getting their lock on the gate.

Range Improvements

Justin is still waiting on contractors to look at and give a bid on improvements.  A new member is going to chat with Justin after meeting to discuss what is wanted and he is thinking he can help us.

Hunter Sight in Days

Hunter Sight in Days will be October 2nd, 3rd, 16th & 17th – Setup will be at 8:00 am each morning and open to the public from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.  Range will be closed during those times.  Volunteers will be needed, please contact Stan Bithell if you can help.

Club Website Developer

Still haven’t been able to find someone to help with the website.  A new member thinks he may be able to help and will chat with Kindee after the meeting.

Archery Range

Range will be completed when the other range improvements are done.

A regular meeting was held on July 7th at the Rifle Range with six officers and no members present.

Business discussed:

Range Improvements

Still trying to get bids.  Contractors are really busy and have not been able to get out to the range to bid the project.  Mowing was done including the top of the berms.  Justin and Stan will try and get out to weed eat soon.

Club Website Developer

The club is in need of securing a website company/developer to maintain our website.  If anyone members have suggestions on a company please contact an officer.

Road Maintenance

Road was bladed and no gravel was needed.

Archery Range

We are looking into doing an archery range.  Officers are working on where placement would be and the cost.

A regular meeting was held on May 5th at the Flathead County Fairgrounds 4-H Building with five officers and four members present.

Business discussed:

Range Cleanup Day on April 24th

Had a few volunteers show up to help, we were done by noon.  Changed all boards, empty garbage cans and burned the old target boards.  Stan and Justin both brought T-paper for the restroom, so we are stocked for now.  Will probably need to mow in early June.

Range Improvements

Justin has a couple of guys that are going to do a quote on the handicap access at the pistol range, fixing the access at the rifle range, and building new covered stairs at the pistol range.  Hopefully will get quotes done soon.

Club Website Developer

The club is in need of securing a website company/developer to maintain our website.  Stan had suggested Fiver, but had some concerns with privacy.  He is checking into what protocols are in place with Fiver.

Road Maintenance

Club member Brian emailed in regards to road maintenance, blading and gravel where needed.  Blading cost of $500 to $600, with gravel cost of $800 to $1200.  The homeowner’s association is requesting us to help with the cost along with DNRC.

Rifle Range

Discussion on getting the gong done at 300 yards.  We have the gong, but will need to have a work party to build the bunker.
