Notice about Noise complaints from neighbors. We have been getting calls from the DNRC that a neighbor of ours says someone is shooting “exploding targets” on our range. While we not been able to find any indication of this, I want to reiterate that it is against our range rules to shoot at exploding targets on our range. If anyone sees or hears of anyone shooting exploding targets on our range, or even around the range, please contact me, leave a message and I will get back to you 406-260-0635.

Dust on Rifle Range Road. We have also gotten a request from our neighbors on Rifle Range road that when entering the range please drive slowly so as minimize dust on the road.

New Safety Signs. We have added some new safety signs to the range. Make sure everyone has been notified of your intention to go down range, and the range is safe. We also added some additional signs for range hours, 8:00am to 9:0pm or dark whichever comes first.

Whitefish Rifle and Pistol Club July News Letter

A regular meeting was held on July 1st with 4 officers present. Items discussed;

  • Notice we have been getting complaints from our neighbors in the Whitefish Hills subdivision about “exploding targets” on the range. This is a reminder that these types of targets are not allowed on the range.

  • The club is selling T-Shirts and Sweat shirts with a WRPC logo on it. These T-Shirts are being sold at the meetings and will also be selling online on the website for $20.00 and Sweat Shirts for $40.00 each along with a $5.00 shipping charge. Look for this to be on the website soon. We are going to be accepting online payments for these.

  • Discussion about setting up a better way to do a mass e-mail to members for notices such as mowing the range or weed spraying etc,

  • We want to thank William Boehme for his work on putting up covers on the entrances to the rifle range. This will keep the snow from piling up in the winter when it slides off of the roof.

  • We are planning on having a table at the Gun Show this fall at the Majestic Valley Arena. The idea was to sell T-Shirts, maybe a raffle, and give out membership information. More information to come when we get closer.

  • There is going to be a work party to install some additional signs and flashing on the top of the shooting baffles on August 15th 7:00am to 12:00pm. The range will be closed for this.

  • We are tenatively going to hold a Women On Target Event next year 2021, if you are interested in helping or know of someone (women too) please let us know.
